  • Overview

    This position is required to scrub basic and advanced Operating Room (OR) procedures. In collaboration with the surgical team members, assures the safe and efficient passage of the patient through surgery.  Responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. 

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the sterility of supplies and the smooth efficient flow of the surgical procedures.  Selects all equipment and supplies needed for surgical cases and assists with set up in OR Suite.
    • Utilizes the preference card to identify equipment and supplies for specific surgeries.
    • Anticipates the surgeon's needs and reacts accordingly by passing the appropriate      instrumentation, sutures and supplies to surgeons and/or the assistant.
    • Functions as a member of the surgical team by providing care to surgical patients.
    • Efficient and organized in skills to assist team with safe and appropriate operating room turnover.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Attention to detail and ability to be thorough and accurate.
    • Ability to work at a fast pace with direct communication. 
    • Must have experience in surgical services.
    • Must possess good communication skills.
    • Must work effectively within a team structure.
    • Experience with computer keyboarding required.
    • American Heart Association BLS required.
    • Certified Scrub Technician certification preferred.

    Schedule: 40 hours/week; M-F; hours may vary based on OR schedule
