    The Digestive Health Institute of Montana offers comprehensive gastroenterological care from the medical management of common digestive complaints to complex disorders of the digestive system and liver. The Digestive Health Institute is seeking those interested in joining a dynamic and growing clinic to fill an Office Assistant position. Our clinic has 10 providers, many with sub-specialties in gastroenterology. The office environment is fast paced with heavy patient volume. A successful candidate will have the ability to adjust to changing work environments, desire the opportunity to cross-train on different roles and responsibilities, and work well in a dynamic team oriented environment.


    Position Summary:  Leads front office staff to a high level of customer service, accurate registration and personal assistance. Performs the following duties:


    • Supervises front office personnel to maximize efficiency and minimize errors; provide excellent customer service; perform assigned job duties accurately and within stated time frames.
    • Handles tasks directly, if necessary, to ensure completion.
    • Leads department staff to accomplish the following:

      Greet and check in patients, while verifying and updating necessary information in the medical records.

      Answer and screen telephone calls, takes messages, and provides appropriate information.

      Processes charts, mail and other paperwork properly




    • Provide training to staff and monitors understanding and implementation of training.
    • Maintains work area and lobby in neat and orderly manner.
    • Attends meetings as required.
    • Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
    • Performs related work as assigned.



    Work Schedule: Full-Time; 80 hours per pay period; M-F; 8:00am and 5:00pm


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Supervisory experience required
    • Customer service experience in an office setting required
    • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, both verbally and in writing
    • Positive attitude; ability to be flexible with the needs of the office.
    • Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a very busy environment.
    • Prefer previous medical terminology and medical insurance/training experience.
